Project Teringai-Tumunda
Thank you to all our donors, the campaign is now closed! 🙂
What is Project Teringai-Tumunda (Project TT)?
It is a two-week education project taking place this July in rural areas of Kota Marudu, Sabah, Malaysia. Specifically, two schools: SK Temuno Teringai Darat & SK Tumunda Salimandut. This project aims to reduce the urban-rural education gap that exists in Malaysia.
Volunteers will be spending these two weeks teaching underprivileged students English & Mathematics. We’ll also be organizing a bunch of workshops/activities for them:
– Health & Hygiene
– Anti-bullying
– Confidence Building
– “Inspiration Activities” (mini career fairs, exploraces, etc.)
Who is organizing this?
Project Teringai-Tumunda is organized by Charisma Movement, a Malaysian student-led volunteer organization. Charisma Movement is officially registered under the Ministry of Youth and Sports as Kelab Belia Karisma Bandar Sri Damansara (PPBM: KT1464/14/19).
Who benefits from this project?
The beneficiaries of this project will be underprivileged Year 6 students (12-year-olds) who are in their final year of primary school. Most of these students come from low-income families, which means they often don’t have sufficient access to the resources they need to excel in school.
What will the funds be used for?
– Teaching materials & academic resources (stationery, books, dictionaries, paper, etc.)
– Stationery kits for all students in the schools
– Sports equipment
– Food & accommodation for both volunteers and student beneficiaries
– Transportation
