Red Bubbles will be organising its hospital clowning workshop this coming weekend, 30 November – 1 December 2019.
The workshop will be held at Institut Terjemahan Buku Malaysia ITBM, Section 10, Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Who can come?
It is open to public especially volunteers who are interested to explore the art of making sick kids smile and laugh by using less props or none at all.
What You Will Learn?
In this workshop, the participants will be exposed and trained with the essential skills Red Bubbles clowns used to bring joy and smile to seriously ill children in hospitals on weekly basis.
You will learn the skills to connect with the sick kids easily by simple breathing technique, asking permission to enter the room and creating comfortable distance between you and the child.
You will also learn how to create fun and joyful moments with sick kids using theatre clowning and improvisation approach. You are going to fail and laugh a lot in this workshop!
Who is the trainer?
The workshop will be conducted by Iskandar Syah Ismail the co-founder of Red Bubbles.
Over the years, he has learned the theatre clowning skills from several international renowned master clowns and performers such as Avner Eisenberg, Julie Goell, Aitor Basauri, Angela de Castro, Hilary Chaplain.
He was also been trained with hospital clowning skills by the world pioneers in this field such as Michael Christensen (Clown Care Unit USA), Caroline Simonds and Lory Leshin from Le Rire Medecin France.
In addition to hospital clowning work, he also has carried out humanitarian clown work in disaster area (Bam earthquake, Iran)
How much it cost?
The registration fee for this workshop is RM200. Lunch will be provided.
